چکیده
ABSTRACT The standard alpha-disc model predicts an anticorrelation between the density of inner accretion disc and black hole mass times square rate, as seen in higher (MBH > 106 M⊙) active galactic nuclei (AGNs). In this work, we test predictions study properties flow for low-mass end ≈ 105–6 AGNs. We utilize a new high-density reflection where parameter varies from ne = 1015 to 1020 cm−3 apply it broad-band X-ray (0.3–10 keV) spectra AGN sample. sources span wide range Eddington fractions are consistent with being sub-Eddington or near-Eddington. reveal soft excess below ∼1.5 keV which is well modelled by ionized ∼ 1018 on average. results suggest radiation pressure-dominated average 70 per cent fraction power transferred corona, that observed show than can result pressure compression when surface does not hold strong magnetic gradient. find tentative evidence drop spin at regimes.

Low-mass Active Galactic Nuclei with Rapid X-ray Variability
We present a detailed study of the optical spectroscopic properties of 12 active galactic nuclei (AGNs) with candidate low-mass black holes (BHs) selected by Kamizasa et al. through rapid X-ray variability. The highquality, echellette Magellan spectra reveal broad Hα emission in all the sources, allowing us to estimate robust viral BH masses and Eddington ratios for this unique sample. We confi...
متن کاملNear IR Spectroscopy of Active Galactic Nuclei . ⋆
Using the VLT together with the near infrared instrument ISAAC, we have obtained medium spectral and high spatial resolution observations of a sample of nearby Seyfert galaxies in the H-band. This band is particularly suited for stellar population studies since the stellar component dominates over the AGN nucleus. The H-band also includes the peak contribution from cool stars. The AGN spectra a...
متن کاملLINERs AS LOW-LUMINOSITY ACTIVE GALACTIC NUCLEI
Many nearby galaxies contain optical signatures of nuclear activity in the form of LINER nuclei. LINERs may be the weakest and most common manifestation of the quasar phenomenon. The physical origin of this class of objects, however, has been ambiguous. I draw upon a number of recent observations to argue that a significant fraction of LINERs are low-luminosity active galactic nuclei. AGN CENSU...
متن کاملLow Luminosity Radio Loud Active Galactic Nuclei
I review observational properties of low power radio loud AGN. High resolution VLBI observations allow the estimate of the jet velocity and orientation with respect to the line of sight and the determination of the Doppler factor. These data reveal rich structures, including two-sided jets and secondary components. New results on 1144+35, a giant radio source with superluminal motion are shown ...
متن کاملActive Galactic Nuclei as High Energy Engines
Active Galactic Nuclei are considered as possible sites of cosmic ray acceleration and some of them have been observed as high energy gamma ray emitters (Blazars). There naturally comes an appealing idea that the acceleration of the highest energy cosmic rays in the AGNs has a signature in the form of gamma ray emission and high energy neutrino emission through the collisions of very high energ...
